Hi Lee, your name was passed onto me as you are well informed on diabetic neuropathy.I was diagnosed 2 just over 2 yrs ago .at the same time I was diagnosed with lumber disc compression for which I have had 3 ops the last by a neurologist ,there has been little improvement .My symptoms are a numb shin bone numbness across front of ankle searing knife like pains anyplace below the knee ,bruise type pain in foot and ankle, this is all in my left leg. There is muscle wastage no reflex and my leg is very weak.I had my 6 month check up last week where the nurse found a very weak pulse in my left foot and she wasn,t sure if this was because of my diabetes or nerve damage from the discs, My GP is useless, just gives me a sweet smile and say,s she doesn,t know.I,m not asking you for a diagnosis (heaven forbid)oh, I also get muscle spasms ,walking is painful and it,s painful to the touch.Does this sound like symptoms you have or know about. The spinal clinic are going to inject into my spine again and I,m a bit fed up as I,m beginning to feel like a guinea pig and I,m beginning wonder if they are on the wrong track and if it could be my diabetes, diet treated to date.I've read a lot about the problems with diabetic neuropathy but it appears to be complicated. I am sorry this is so long ,I've tried to give you all the facts .Any information would be gratefully received
